I am a very blessed woman; I have so many truly phenomenal friends in my life.
Some of them struggle sometimes, as we all do, with issues of self-worth and self-esteem. I often find myself wishing that they could see themselves through my eyes, if only for a moment, and then it would be clear to them just how amazing they are.
Today, I stumbled across this quote, and I thought it captured my feelings on this subject quite perfectly.
"It doesn't make sense to call ourselves ugly because we don't ever really see ourselves. We don't watch ourselves sleeping in bed, curled up and silent, chests rising and falling with our own rhythm. We don't see ourselves reading a book, eyes fluttering and glowing. We don't see ourselves looking at someone with love inside our heart. There's no mirror in our way when we're laughing and smiling and happiness is leaking out of us. We would know exactly how bright and beautiful we are if we saw ourselves in the moments when we are truly beautiful." ~Author Unknown
